Wigwam, the open-source and user-friendly Web3 wallet, has recently announced its integration with Rootstock. Being compatible with 17 blockchains and supporting Rootstock Naming Service (RNS), Wigwam wallet will offer the Rootstock ecosystem users an intuitive wallet to manage, store, and swap their ecosystem tokens.

In this article, we go over the steps to start using Wigwam wallet.

Step-by-step guide to bridging to Rootstock with Wigwam

Currently, Wigwam Wallet is available as a Chrome extension, and a mobile app will be released next month. To start using Wigwam and join the Rootstock ecosystem, follow these steps:

Step 1: Download and install Wigwam:

Go to the Wigwam website and click on the “Download for Chrome” button, then click on the “Add Extension” button.

Step 2: Pin the Wigwam extension in your browser toolbar for easy access.

Step 3: Create or Import a Wallet

After installation, open the extension. You will have the option to either “create a new wallet” or “import an existing one.”

Creating a new wallet

If you decide to create a new wallet, follow these steps:

  • Click on “Create a new wallet” and follow the onboarding process.
  • Store your seed phrase securely and verify it.
  • Create your password.

Congratulations! Your wallet is now set up.

Importing an existing wallet

If you’re importing an existing wallet, follow these steps:

  • Click on “Import or recover wallet.”
  • Click on “Add Wallets.”
  • Enter your Seed phrase or Private Key.
  • Create a new password, accept the terms, and click “Continue.”

That’s all. You may use the Wigwam wallet.

Bridging to Rootstock blockchain

To work with dApps on the Rootstock blockchain:

  • Click on the extension icon in the browser toolbar.
  • Choose the “Network” dropdown.
  • Select Rootstock.
  • Activate the “Testnets & All” switch if you want to work with the Rootstock Testnet.

 

Swapping Rootstock tokens

To swap Rootstock tokens in the wallet, you should visit the Swap section:

  • Choose Rootstock from the available blockchains and select the Rootstock token you want to exchange. 
  • In the second step, choose the token you want to receive. 
  • Finally, review the swap details and complete the swap.

You can explore the wallet’s features and see how it works with Rootstock dApps by installing the wallet.
