Rootstock x SideShift: Guide to Trading RBTC on SideShift.ai

This article is part of Rootstock’s series “Building DeFi on Bitcoin” exploring different solutions and integrations on the Rootstock blockchain that enable scaling Bitcoin, bringing DeFi capabilities to the world’s first blockchain.

SideShift.ai, the direct-to-wallet crypto exchange, has recently announced its integration with Rootstock. Through this integration, Rootstock users can now use 200+ cryptocurrencies to seamlessly get RBTC.

In this guide, we will walk you through SideShift.ai and show the steps required to buy RBTC on the platform.

Step-by-step guide to buying RBTC on SideShift.ai

Step 1: Go to SideShift.ai and select the pair you are looking to trade.

Step 2: Select either “Variable Rate” or “Fixed Rate”. By selecting “Variable Rate” you are able to send any amount within the range shown.

You will see a live market exchange rate which will be displayed until you make a deposit. Alternatively, “Fixed Rate” orders require a specified trade size and are locked in for 15 minutes once a quote has been generated.

Step 3: For this example, let’s try the “Fixed Rate” option.

To get started, enter the Rootstock-compatible address where you would like to receive RBTC and the amount you are looking to trade. Then click the “SHIFT” button.

Step 4: Once the order page has been generated, send your funds to the address shown.

Please note, if you selected “Fixed Rate” you must send the exact amount.

Step 5: SideShift.ai will process your deposit.

Step 6: SideShift.ai will then settle to your assigned address.

Step 7: Your RBTC is delivered to the Rootstock address specified earlier on in the process!
