Introducing Bitcoin Genesis Countdown: User Guide

The Bitcoin Genesis Countdown kicks off on October 30 — with a whole host of new partners, quests, and rewards to discover.

Today, October 31st, marks the anniversary of the publication of the Bitcoin Whitepaper—a significant moment that kicked off the whole world of Web3. As we count down to January 3rd, the day Bitcoin and Rootstock went live, we invite you to join the Bitcoin Genesis Countdown. This campaign celebrates the milestones in the histories of both Bitcoin and Rootstock, showcasing Rootstock ecosystem partners, quests, and rewards along the way.

So what is happening?

It’s a new campaign that comes hot on the heels of the Rootstock World Tour, which gave users the opportunity to explore just some of the dApps within the ecosystem.

From October 30 to January 3, you’ll have the chance to take part in 16 quests that showcase diverse use cases within Bitcoin’s oldest and biggest sidechain.

Successfully completing all the tasks of each quest will unlock a Christmas present, with a total of $1,000 to be distributed among 1,000 winners. Each quest will have its own raffle.

A $5,000 raffle will also be triggered for quests that attract more than 10,000 participants — giving five lucky winners the chance to win $1,000 each.

An additional $10,000 prize will be reserved for those who complete all 16 quests, with $2,000 going to 5 competitors selected in a random draw.

Stops and Timelines

Completing the following quests will open your eyes to the use cases now available through Rootstock.

Here’s what you can expect in terms of stops and timelines:

  • November 4, Elk Finance: Cross-chain infrastructure framework
  • November 6, Merkl: Onchain incentives platform
  • November 8, Money On Chain: Stablecoin protocol
  • November 11, Tropykus: Latin American lending protocol
