Introducing Arrowhead 6.2.0

The Rootstock community is pleased to announce the release of the latest version of the RSKj client, which is now available in the RSKj GitHub repository. This update mainly focuses on improving Ethereum compatibility at the JSON-RPC interface and making some peer discovery enhancements.

While this upgrade is optional, we strongly encourage users to update their nodes to the most recent version for an enhanced experience and to benefit from the latest improvements.

What changes are included in RSK Arrowhead 6.2.0?

A non-comprehensive list of changes included in this version is:

  • Added revert data to an eth_call response by @jurajpiar in #2281.
  • Support input field in eth_call method requests by @vovchyk in #2293.
  • Load active peers from previous sessions at node start-up by @asoto-iov in #2230.
  • Enable genesis block load from an external file by @jurajpiar in #2266.

You can find a complete list of the changes introduced in the corresponding GitHub milestone.

How do I upgrade to version 6.2.0?

There are no special considerations for upgrading to this version. Users are simply required to download and update their RSKj node; no additional tasks are necessary.

RSKj Arrowhead 6.2.0’s sha256 sum is 7c3973d1a062235d8cc4de7e9010000cdcaada103ac0b2162bf813b4b29629b6 rskj-core-6.2.0-ARROWHEAD-all.jar.

Merged Mining in Action: Bridging Secured by Miners, Not Just Signers

Most people evaluate Bitcoin bridges with a simple shortcut: is it a federation, or is it a validator model? In that mental model, a federation bridge is a multisig controlled by a set of known parties. A validator model is a separate group that watches one chain and attests to actions on another. Both categories […]
