Rootstock x Asami: User Guide to Blockchain-Enabled Content Rewards

This article is part of Rootstock’s series “Building DeFi on Bitcoin” exploring different solutions and integrations on the Rootstock blockchain that enable scaling Bitcoin, bringing DeFi capabilities to the world’s first blockchain.

Asami, a Rootstock Grants winner, and a club where members can pay each other to repost content on X or Instagram, recently announced the launching of their project on mainnet.

Utilizing Asami, members can amplify their messages in a genuine and responsible way, by tapping into the worldwide network of personal online circles.

Asami is powered by Rootstock smart contracts to manage memeber payouts using ecosystem stablecoins and RIF single sign-on capabilities.

In this guide, we explore step-by-step how users can start monetizing content on Asami club.

Steps to using Asami Club

Step 1:

Go to https://asami.club/ and join the network. Joining is free, and you don’t need a web3 wallet to start collecting rewards, as you can also sign up with an X or Facebook account.

Step 2:

Verify your X and/or Instagram handles, in both cases the process is similar, you just enter your handle and will be prompted to post a message saying you’ve joined the club.

Note: Follow the instructions provided to verify your account (e.g. post the message to your followers)

Step 3:

After a few moments, your handle will be verified and your level of influence will be estimated. You’ll be presented with active campaigns for which you are eligible.

You can collaborate in campaigns by reposting on X, or creating a new post on Instagram.

Step 4:

When Asami detects your collaboration, you’ll be awarded your DOC reward from the campaign. A fee will be deducted. As an early adopter, will also receive ASAMI tokens.

Asami will keep your DOC and ASAMI tokens safe until you connect your web3 wallet.

Step 5:

Connect your wallet to claim your tokens: When you claim your account, you’ll see your DOC’s and freshly minted ASAMI tokens in your wallet. You can add both tokens to your wallet using the links above.

Note that ASAMI pays holders their share of fees collected every 15 days. These tokens can also be used to vote on a new fee rate or voting a new club administrator.

ASAMI tokens are not pre-mined and are only minted to parties participating in a collaboration, including the asami administrator. The only way to get them now is to participate.

Bonus:

You can create campaigns too, by just providing a link to the X or Instagram post that you want to amplify.

As campaigns are funded in DOC, you’ll need to have your wallet connected and some DOC beforehand. If you don’t have DOC yet, you can suggest a campaign with just the link, and we’ll run it for free.

Once you suggest a campaign, you’ll be able to see it in your dashboard under “Requested campaigns”

That’s all!

What’s next for Asami

Asami has a clear roadmap ahead, with plans on:

  • Adding rewards for other types of trend-creating actions, like commenting on a post, and supporting more social networks like YouTube, TikTok, and Nostr.
  • Improving influence estimation algorithms, and allowing better campaign targeting, by tagging members according to their kind of audience and relevant topics.
  • Expanding on the marketplace features to enable price discovery. This is planned to be done by letting members set their own price per repost, and letting campaign creators set the price they want to pay for a given influence level.
  • Listing the ASAMI token to incentivize more genuine collaborations.
