Midas Integrates with Rootstock to Expand BTC Treasury Strategies

As Bitcoin adoption continues to grow, so does the demand for infrastructure that allows BTC to be used productively without departing from Bitcoin’s core security and trust assumptions.

Rootstock was created to extend Bitcoin’s proof-of-work security into a fully EVM-compatible smart contract environment. Today, we’re highlighting the integration of Midas on Rootstock, bringing mHyperBTC to the Bitcoin ecosystem.

mHyperBTC is structured to track the performance of BTC-denominated market-neutral strategies deployed across on-chain markets and ecosystems. The strategy is managed and monitored by Hyperithm, a premier digital asset manager based in Tokyo and Seoul.

What This Means for Bitcoin-Native Finance

Bitcoin is the most secure blockchain network in the world, yet much of on-chain financial activity has historically taken place elsewhere due to the lack of native smart contract functionality.

Rootstock bridges this gap by unlocking DeFi use cases anchored to Bitcoin’s security model. Integrations like Midas expand what’s possible on Bitcoin by bringing composable onchain investment products like mHyperBTC to Rootstock.

Expanding BTCFi Use Cases on Rootstock

With Midas’ mHyperBTC live on Rootstock, the ecosystem can explore:

  • Further BTC treasury management strategies
  • Ability to mint mHyperBTC with rBTC
  • Access to DeFi opportunities through mHyperBTC’s native composability

This integration supports Rootstock’s long-term vision: enabling Bitcoin to serve as a foundation for open, on-chain finance.

Why Rootstock

Rootstock is the leading Bitcoin DeFi Layer, combining:

  • Bitcoin-anchored security through merged mining
  • Full EVM compatibility
  • Open, permissionless infrastructure, designed for composability and long-term scalability

This enables partners like Midas to provide solutions that benefit from Bitcoin’s security while accessing modern smart contract functionality.

About Midas

Midas is a platform for composable onchain investment products. It enables asset managers to turn institutional strategies into regulatory-compliant tokens that offer full transparency, instant redemptions, and native composability across DeFi. To date, Midas has powered over $1.7B in asset issuance and paid out $37M in yield.

By integrating with Rootstock, Midas enables users to mint mHyperBTC with rBTC directly on Rootstock, contributing to the broader growth of Bitcoin-native applications.
